"People from a planet without flowers would think we must be mad with joy the whole time to have such things about us."
~Iris Murdoch, A Fairy Honourable Defeat
It's PINK SATURDAY and our pink hostess,
namely, Beverly, at How Sweet the Sound
has a complete listing of all
the participants in today's event.
My "pink" for today is a photo from my backyard.
Crepe Myrtles are definitely in a 200 way tie for
first place in terms of my favorite flowers. They
are planted in abundance in this area of the
world. Large clumps of them still take my breath
away everytime I see them.
I'm grateful I live on a planet where there are flowers!

I agree. I just love flowers. They are so beautiful. I can't imagine a world without them.
Happy Pink Saturday.
take care,

Happy Pink Saturday, Sue. I do believe our two great minds were thinking alike today.
I adore crepe myrtles.
Goodness, how beautiful! What an incredible garden! Thanks for sharing.

They are so beautiful! I don't think I've seen one in RI or maybe I just don't pay attention at all!
Well, I must say, I felt right at home on your blog. I grew up, married, and my first two children were born in Atlanta and I would move back in a heartbeat....especially because my sister stil lives there. Your crape myrtles are beautiful, as are the hydrangeas I peeked at on another post. Thanks for visiting windycorner...come back soon.

Wow Sue; your Crepe Myrtles, are so beautiful. Love your garden photo. I don't even want to think of a world with out plants or flowers, how sad it would be. Have a great weekend.
Hugs;

Beautiful crepe myrtles! I have 3 in my backyard! Our city has a Crepe Myrtle Trail ~ hmmm....I should take pics, huh?!?!
Love your cherub, too!

Hi Sue, You are so right!!! Your crepe myrtles are simply breathtaking!!!...and so "pink" & perfect for Pink Saturday!...Heidi XO
Like Bev's pink crepe myrtles yours are beautiful. Mine are planted around the pool and just starting to open. We mutilated ours a couple of summers ago, not because we wanted to but because of a major pool make over and this year they are finally coming around again. Makes me smile. :)
Your garden is very lovely! I don't think I've ever seen these beautiful flowering trees in person. I feel like I'm really missing out on something, too! Thank you for sharing a piece of your garden with us!
